If you’re seeking a more distinguished profile with well-balanced features, a facial augmentation such as a chin implant or cheek implant may help you reach your goal. Bayshore Plastic Surgery’s Dr. Joseph M. Brown has years of experience performing facial implant procedures on patients from Tampa, St Petersburg, Sarasota, Clearwater, Naples and elsewhere in Florida, and he may be able to help you too.
His more than two decades of experience in plastic surgery gives him the insight into just what you’ll need to achieve your desired look. He’ll explain that chin implant surgery can be a good solution for those with structural flaws in the chin area of the face, while a cheek implant can be utilized by patients looking to add fullness to their face that may have diminished with age. In addition to those procedures, he can tell you about other surgical and non-surgical options to enhance your face’s natural beauty, including Botox, lip injections, rhinoplasty, brow lifts, and more.
What happens during chin implant surgery?
Dr. Joseph M. Brown begins this surgery with an incision along the inside of the mouth near the lower lip or in the skin just below the chin. He creates a small pocket in the skin and then inserts a proportionally shaped chin implant into the pocket. The chin is taped shut after surgery to minimize swelling and discomfort and the skin is sutured. Sutures applied externally are removed within seven days, while intra-oral sutures in the mouth dissolve over time.
