A buttock lift is a cosmetic procedure designed to restore a toned appearance to the buttocks by lifting and tightening the skin. This procedure can be especially beneficial for patients who have experienced a loss of skin elasticity or symmetry due to aging or extreme weight loss. At Bayshore Plastic Surgery in Tampa, our Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Greenwald has been performing cosmetic surgeries for more than 16 years, and can use his experience to perform a buttock lift to help meet your body goals.

What happens during a buttock lift?

During this procedure, Dr. Greenwald carefully removes excess skin and fat through lateral incisions made at the top of the buttocks. Sometimes he also makes additional incisions on the front of the groin and hips, which allow him to pull the remaining skin over the muscle to lift and reshape the buttock area. In some cases, liposuction or buttock implants are also used to achieve a patient’s desired look.

Surgical Concerns

As with all cosmetic surgeries, there is a risk of infection. Patients can expect bruising and swelling to last for about a month, and full recovery generally takes 4-6 months.
