A mastopexy, commonly known as a breast lift, is a procedure intended to enhance and reshape the contours of the bust for women seeking to restore the youthful shape of their breasts. This surgery is particularly beneficial for women who have experienced a loss of skin elasticity and firmness in their breasts due to pregnancy, breast feeding, weight fluctuations or simple aging. If you live in Tampa, Clearwater, Sarasota or anywhere else in the area and want to improve the appearance and shape of your breasts, you can achieve the results you desire with a mastopexy from Bayshore Plastic Surgery. Bayshore’s surgeon, Dr. Daniel Greenwald, has been performing mastopexy procedures for patients throughout the Tampa Bay area for more than a decade, consistently producing successful and favorable results. His extensive training at Princeton, Yale, Harvard and the University of Chicago, as well as his deep commitment to his patients and practice make Dr. Greenwald one of the most respected plastic surgeons in the state.

When Dr. Greenwald performs your mastopexy, you’ll reap the benefits of his extensive knowledge and expertise, including:

  • Renewed firmness and elasticity
  • Breasts that are well positioned in proportion to your body
  • Enhanced breast shape
  • Reduced areolas for women who have experienced enlargement

What happens during a mastopexy?

During your mastopexy surgery Dr. Greenwald will remove excess skin and tighten the surrounding breast tissue in order to raise and firm the breast, much like a breast reduction. This is done through incisions made around the areola, and sometimes with incisions made down to and across the breast crease, as well.

Surgical Concerns

While a mastopexy typically results in some degree of scarring, Dr Greenwald’s experience has enabled him to perfect several techniques to help minimize the appearance of these scars. One of these techniques allows the surgeon to confine scarring to the areolar area, where the skin is darker and scars are less visually obvious.
