A thigh lift is a cosmetic procedure that involves removing fat and extra skin from the thigh and knee area, and tightening the remaining skin to create a slimmer, more defined appearance. This is beneficial for patients who have lost elasticity and tone in their thighs due to aging, as well as those who have lost drastic amounts of weight and are left with sagging or excess skin. If you are interested in achieving a sleeker, more attractive silhouette by having a thigh lift, Bayshore Plastic Surgery offers this procedure for patients throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Greenwald has more than two decades of experience in the operating room, and will use his expertise and knowledge of plastic surgery to give you smoother, slimmer thighs that are well-proportioned to the rest of your body.

What happens during a thigh lift?

Depending on the area of the thigh that is being treated, Dr. Greenwald will make an incision in the groin fold, from the groin to the inner knee, or from the groin around the hip. Then he will carefully remove excess skin and fat to reshape and tighten the area. Deep stitches will be made to help form the new contours, and all incisions will be sutured.

Surgical Concerns

Risks associated with thigh lifts include scarring, infection, and bleeding. Swelling typically disappears within 5 weeks, and Dr. Greenwald can advise you on how soon to return to normal physical activities.
